Spin and Add

This is a game for two players. The goal is to have the most points after seven rounds.

Materials

• clear spinner or a paper clip and pencil
• Spin and Add Spinner from the Student Activity Book
• Spin and Add Score Sheet from the Student Activity Book
• collection of coins
• 200 Chart
• desk number line 0–100

Directions

1. Player 1 spins the spinner three times.
2. Player 1 records each number in a number sentence on the Spin and Add Score Sheet and records the sum.
3. Player 2 takes a turn and records his or her number sentence and sum on the score sheet.
4. Players 1 and 2 check and compare their sums for the first round.
5. The player with the higher sum gets one point and records it in the Points section of the score sheet.
6. If the sums are the same, each player gets one point.
7. The player with the most points after 7 rounds wins.
