After playing a while longer, the game boards looked like this:

Notice that John recorded 16 − 10 = 6 twice. He spun the same numbers on two different turns. He answered the problem correctly both times. John completely filled in one column first. He won the game!

Play the Nine, Ten Game with a partner. Directions, spinners, and game boards are in the Student Activity Book. Look for patterns in the number sentences on the game boards when you finish playing.
