The object of the game is to earn the most points by representing a number as a common fraction, a decimal fraction, and with words. For this game, a flat is one whole. This game is for two people.
Materials
- base-ten pieces (flats, skinnies, and bits)
- Hundredths, Hundredths, Hundredths Game Board from the Student Activity Book
Directions
- The first player makes a number with base-ten pieces and shows it in the table using base-ten shorthand.
- Then the second player must write the fractions for the number and say the number.
- The second player scores one point for writing the common fraction correctly, one point for writing the decimal fraction correctly, and one point for saying the number correctly.
- Take turns making, writing, and saying numbers.
- In this game, you are allowed to be tricky. Can you tell what this number is?
