length
The distance from end to end of an object.

less than
The symbol < means less than. In a number sentence it means that the number on the left is smaller than the number on the right. For example, 5 is less than 8 or 5 < 8.
line of symmetry
An imaginary line showing where you can fold a picture or a shape and have both halves match exactly. (See also symmetry.)

line symmetry
A figure has line symmetry if it can be folded along a line so that the two halves match exactly. (See also symmetry.)
