Use the Quadrilateral Cards pages and the Sorting Board pages in the Student Activity Book to answer Questions 2–7.

  1. Look at the quadrilaterals on the Quadrilateral Cards.
    1. List the shapes that have right angles.
    2. List which shapes have at least two congruent sides.
    3. List the shapes that are rectangles.
  2. Label “Box A” on the Sorting Board page as “2 pairs of parallel sides.” Label “Box B” as “1 pair of parallel sides.” Sort the Quadrilateral Cards.
    1. Which shapes have two pairs of parallel sides? What are these shapes called?
    2. Which shapes have only one pair of parallel sides? What are these shapes called?
    3. Which shapes are in neither Box A nor Box B?
    4. Jessie placed Shape 5 in both Box A and Box B. Do you agree with her placement? Why or why not?
  3. What shape am I? Use the clues to name the polygon. Draw a sketch of each shape.
