Ms. Kay is a teacher at Bessie Coleman School. On Thursday night she noticed she had driven 160 miles by traveling to and from school for four days. How far does Ms. Kay live from school?
Roberto realized that the miles had to be divided into 8 equal groups. Why?
We can write this problem as

160 is called the dividend.
8 is called the divisor. The answer to the division problem is called the quotient.
Roberto thought about multiplication to help him solve the division problem. He said, “I can think about 160 divided by 8 this way.”
