“Our time here is up, but I think there is still a way to find out what would happen,” said Professor Eagle.

“A local park conservation club has offered to continue the study and do the following:

  • Capture bats for the next eight nights.
  • Keep the net up for different lengths of time.
  • Capture about 50 bats and count the tagged bats for the first four nights.
  • Capture about 150 bats and count the tagged bats for the second four nights.

They will send us their data so we can add it to the data we already have.”

“Great!” exclaimed both Bobby and Sarah. “Then we can find out how the sample size changes the number of tagged bats.”
