- Assign the Rolling Cars Homework Master after data collection is complete in Part 3 to provide practice with comparing distances prior to exploring the data.
- Assign the Make It True Homework Masters after the John's Data pages are complete to provide practice reading a graph and determining whether statements made about the data shown are true or false.
- Assign DPP items M–T. In item N, students solve word problems involving addition and subtraction of two-digit numbers using the 200 Chart and the number line. In item O, students practice reading and writing time to the nearest hour and half hour using analog and digital clocks. In item P, students continue the ongoing project, Hundreds of Coins, from Unit 1 Lesson 1. In item Q, students practice estimating and measuring length using centimeters. In items Q–R, students practice measuring in centimeters and inches. In DPP item S, students skip count off-decade using the 200 Chart. In item T, students play a game that helps them see patterns in even and odd numbers.
- Assign Home Practice Parts 5 and 6. In Part 5, students practice the make-ten and use-ten strategies and multidigit addition. Part 6 provides practice with addition strategies in the context of word problems.
