Have each group share the data for their group's
longest distance by writing responses on a chart or
other display. Have students compare their data with
that of the other groups.
Pose questions comparing
the data and discuss how to find differences between
listed distances:
- Which car rolled the farthest distance? How far did
it go?
- Which car rolled the shortest distance? How far
did this car travel?
- How much farther is the longest distance than the
shortest distance? How do you know?
- How much farther would the car from [student
name]'s group need to travel to reach the car from
[student name]'s group? How do you know?
- How much less did the car from [student name]'s
group travel than the car from [student name]'s
group?
- Did any cars roll about twice the distance of
another car?
