Summarizing the Lesson

Have each group share the data for their group's longest distance by writing responses on a chart or other display. Have students compare their data with that of the other groups.

  • Which car rolled the farthest distance? How far did it go?
  • Which car rolled the shortest distance? How far did this car travel?
  • How much farther is the longest distance than the shortest distance? How do you know?
  • How much farther would the car from [student name]'s group need to travel to reach the car from [student name]'s group? How do you know?
  • How much less did the car from [student name]'s group travel than the car from [student name]'s group?
  • Did any cars roll about twice the distance of another car?
