Homework and Practice

  • Assign the Homework section of the Exponents and Large Numbers pages in the Student Guide. Students practice both representing numbers using exponents and writing numbers represented with exponents in standard form. Students also use estimation strategies to solve a multistep problem.
  • Assign Home Practice Parts 3–5. Students practice finding equivalent fractions involving mixed numbers and improper fractions in Home Practice Part 3. Students practice rounding numbers in Home Practice Part 4. Students order numbers on a number line and practice computational estimation in Home Practice Part 5.
  • Assign DPP items O–R. In Bit Q, students practice rounding numbers to the nearest thousand and ten thousand. In Task R, students practice finding the unknown in and equation with multiple addends.

Math Facts. In DPP Bit O, students practice finding the unknown in a multiplication problem or division problem involving the facts for the 2s and 3s. In Task P, students practice multiplication for the 2s and 3s using multiples of ten.
