Subtracting Multidigit Numbers

• Assign the I Did It My Way Homework Masters to provide practice using a variety of strategies to solve multidigit subtraction problems.
• Assign DPP items Q–V. DPP item R asks students to estimate sums and differences using three- and four-digit numbers. DPP item S provides practice with partitioning and representing a four-digit number. In DPP item T, students estimate sums and differences of two- and three-digit numbers. In DPP item U, students determine duration of an event and read and write time to the nearest five minutes using analog clocks. DPP item V asks students to determine and compare volume in the context of word problems.
