This item provides practice for the addition facts in Group C. Have students share their strategies for solving the problems. Counting on, using doubles, and making ten are all reasonable strategies.

  1. Strategies may vary. Possible strategy: 6 is the partner number with 4 to make 10, and 7 is one more than 6, so 4 + 7 equals one more than 10, or 11.
