Students may use number lines, ten frames, connecting cubes, and the
100 Chart to verify their answers. This item practices the addition facts in
Group C.

  1. 8 + 2 = 10
  2. 18 + 2 = 20
  3. 18 + 3 = 21
  4. 18 + 4 = 22

8 + 2 = 10. Since 18 = 10 + 8, 18 + 2 is 10 + 8 + 2 or 20. 18 + 3 is one more than that or 21. 18 + 4 is two more than 18 + 2, or 22.
