Homework Master after Part 1 of this lesson. For
this assignment, students complete a data table
describing the location of coins in relation to an
origin, along the horizontal axis using distance
and direction.
Assign the Mr. Origin at the Seaside Homework
Masters after Part 3 of this lesson. Students identify
the location of animals in relation to an origin
along two perpendicular axes using distance
and direction.
Assign DPP items Q–V. In item Q, students build
number sense and computation skill by estimating
answers to a multidigit subtraction problem.
In item R, students practice multiplication concepts.
Item S provides practice with reading time
on analog and digital clocks. Items T–V provide
practice with locating objects relative to an origin
using distance and direction.
Assign Home Practice Parts 5–6. In Parts 5–6,
students practice locating objects on a coordinate
grid.
