Assign the Area of Five Shapes Homework page in the Student Activity Book, which provides additional practice in measuring the area of polygons and curved shapes. Encourage students to write numbers in the square-centimeter grid boxes as they count. In reviewing Shape E with the class, compare students' methods and answers. There will be a variety of methods, but the answers should all be within one or two square centimeters of each other.
Assign DPP items E–F. In Bit E, students practice showing showing larger numbers. Task F provides practice with telling time to the nearest five minutes.
