  1. Possible response: When I look at the whole rectangle I can see that parts A, B, and C make up 1/2 of the whole rectangle. You can fit four rectangles the size of A into the whole rectangle, so A = 1/4 of the whole. B and C are the same size. Shape B can fit into the whole rectangle 8 times. So parts B and C are each 1/8 of the whole.
  2. G will fit into A two times just like B. That means you can fit G into the whole 8 times. So G is also 1/8 of the whole.
