TIMS Task

The game is played as described in DPP item N, but draw students' attention to the fact that this time they place the digits in the boxes in such a way as to try to get the largest difference. The player with the largest difference wins. Discuss strategies for placing digits in the boxes.

P. Play Subtraction Digits Game

Draw a playing board like this on your paper.

As your teacher or classmate chooses the digits, place them in the boxes. This time try to find the largest difference. Remember each digit will be used only once. Once you place a digit, it cannot be moved.
