TIMS Bit

Encourage students to share their stories.

For example, 256 watermelons are being shipped to the grocery store.

7 watermelons fit in each crate. How many crates are needed? 256 ÷ 7 = 36 R4; 37 crates would be needed.

K. Writing Division Stories

Write a story for 256 ÷ 7. Remember to talk about the remainder if there is one. Then find the answer. You may use any method you choose to solve the problem.
