Numbers in the News

- Assign the Find Numbers in the News Homework Master. Family members help students find a headline that contains a number in the news. Students write sentences that compare their number to other numbers. Sample headlines and sentences are provided.
- Assign DPP items Q–R. In item Q, students compare measurements represented as groups of ten with leftovers.
Math Facts. In DPP item R, students solve problems involving the addition and subtraction facts in Group C.
