    The hour hand will be halfway between the 7 and 8 because seven thirty means that half an hour has passed.

    The hour hand will be on the eight because thirty minutes has passed and the hour hand moved from halfway between seven and eight to the eight.

Use DPP item G to assess students' abilities to read and write time to the nearest hour and half hour using analog and digital clocks [E9].

G. Dinner Time

  1. Liz has dinner at seven thirty. Show where the hour hand will be then. Tell how you decided where to put the hour hand.
