Have sets of coins readily available.

  1. 90¢; 50¢ + 30¢ + 10¢ = 90¢

  2. $1.10; 75¢ + 20¢ + 15¢ = 110¢ or $1.10

  3. Two possible responses:
    2 quarters, 1 dime, 3 nickels;
    1 quarter, 4 dimes, 2 nickels

F. Quarters, Dimes, and Nickels

  1. What is the value of 2 quarters, 3 dimes, and 2 nickels? Write a number sentence for these coins.


  2. What is the value of 3 quarters, 2 dimes, and 3 nickels? Write a number sentence for these coins.


  3. Use quarters, dimes, and nickels to make 75¢ in two different ways.
