Subtraction Seminar

More Thinking about Subtraction. Have students complete the More Thinking about Subtraction pages in the Student Activity Book. These pages provide further practice in finding differences with prices and purchases. Students should share their solution strategies with pictures and words. Students are encouraged to use tools and strategies such as 200 Charts, number lines, base-ten pieces, mental math, and other strategies on the Subtraction Strategies Chart.

Check Subtraction Problems. Assign the Check Subtraction Problems pages in the Student Activity Book to assess students’ abilities to use subtraction strategies and check their solutions.
