Solving Problems With Multiplication and Division

Homework and Practice

  • Assign the Solving Problems with Multiplication and Division Homework section in the Student Guide after Part 2 of this lesson.
  • Assign DPP items K–N. In Task L, students describe a strategy for solving a multidigit multiplication problem. In Task N, students model fractions with a number line, fraction strips, and symbols.
  • Assign Home Practice Part 3. In Part 3, students review strategies for addition, subtraction, and multiplication.

Math Facts. In Bit K, students write a multiplication story for 7 × 8. In Bit M, students use a math hopper to model and solve problems involving multiplication facts. Remind students to take home their Triangle Flash Cards to prepare for the assessment on the last six facts multiplication facts in Bit S and Bit AA.
