Adding and Subtracting Multiples of Ten

• Assign Home Practice Parts 5 and 6. In Part 5, students add nickels and dimes to complete number sentences. In Part 6, students use a calendar, coins, and a ruler as tools to solve problems.
• Assign the Bags of Tens Homework Master to provide practice representing partitions of numbers at the end of the lesson.
• Assign DPP items Q–T. Item Q provides practices with finding the value of sets of nickels and dimes. In item R, students skip count by 5 on a number line.

Math Facts. DPP items S and T provide practice with the addition facts and the related subtraction facts in Group D with sums to ten.
