Completing the Table

Homework and Practice

  • Assign the Completing the Table Homework section in the Student Guide. Allow students to take home their completed My Multiplication Table and My Patterns for Remembering the Facts page from the Student Activity Guide.
  • Assign DPP items O–R.

Math Facts. I n Bit O, students prepare to review and practice the Subtraction Flash Cards: Groups 7 and 8. Task P and Task R provide practice with the multiplication facts for the 5s and 10s. Bit Q provides practice with the subtraction facts in Groups 7 and 8.

Remind students to practice their subtraction facts with the Subtraction Flash Cards in preparation for the assessments of Groups 7 and 8 in this unit.

Remind students to practice the multiplication facts for the 5s and 10s using the Triangle Flash Cards.

Use Check-In: Questions 25–27 in the Homework section of Completing the Table in the Student Guide and the corresponding Feedback Box in the Teacher Guide to assess students' progress toward the following Expectations:

  • Represent multiplication and division problems with drawings and number sentences [E1].
  • Use strategies to solve multiplication problems [E2].
  • Identify and use patterns to solve the multiplication facts for the 2s, 3s, 5s, 10s, 9s, and square numbers [E5].

The Floor Tile game in Lesson 4 and the Workshop in Lesson 10 provide targeted practice.
