  11. 1000 × 3000 = 3000 and that is close to 1030, so my answer is reasonable.
  12. First I found common denominators for 7/8 and 2/3. 7/8 = 21/24 and 2/3 = 16/24. Then I added 721/24 + 516/24. 21/24 + 16/24 = 37/24 or 113/24. 7 + 5 + 113/24 = 1313/24.
