Many Ways to Make a Number

• Assign the Base-Ten Pieces and Numbers Homework Masters. Students are asked to identify the representation that conforms to the Fewest Pieces Rule.
• Assign DPP items K–N. Item M provides practice with the telling time to the nearest five minutes.

Math Facts. In DPP item K, students solve problems that involve doubling. Item L provides practice with the facts in Groups C and D while extending their understanding to tens. In item N, students practice the facts while solving word problems.

Remind students to practice the addition facts in Groups C and D using the Triangle Flash Cards.
