Base-Ten Hoppers Again

Homework and Practice

  • Assign the Hopping at Home Homework masters. Students are given a picture of base-ten pieces and asked to determine the number and show it on the number line. They are also asked to use base-ten shorthand to represent the same number showing the Fewest Pieces Rule.
  • Assign DPP items S–T. In item S students compare quantities that are represented with base-ten pieces and symbols.
  • Remind students to practice the addition facts in Group C and D using the Triangle Flash Cards.

Math Facts. DPP item T provides practice and an opportunity to assess students' fluency with the addition facts in Group C.
