  7. Possible response: I subtracted the 4 from 654. 654 − 4 = 650. Then I added that 4 to 396. 396 + 4 = 400. I added 400 + 650 = 1050.
  9. Possible response: I know that 295 is close to 300 so I subtracted 4600 − 300 = 4300. That answer is close to 4305 so it is reasonable.
