Use this DPP item to practice using strategies to solve multiplication problems for the last six facts.

  1. 24
  2. 42
  3. 48
  4. 56
  5. 32
  6. 28
  1. Possible response: You can use doubles.
    I know 7 × 4 = 2 × 7 + 2 × 7.
    So, 7 × 4 = 14 + 14 or,
    7 × 4 = 28.
  2. Possible response: If I know
    5 × 7 = 35, then
    6 × 7 = 5 × 7 + 1 × 7, so
    6 × 7 = 35 + 7, or 42.
