Rolling Along with Links

• Assign the Two Car Roll-off Homework Master that asks students to compare distances for two cars that have rolled down different ramps shown in a diagram.
• Assign DPP items G–N. In item G, students group and skip count to find the value of a set of coins. In item H, students represent an even number of objects. In item J, students practice counting on to solve addition problems, and in items K and L, students measure and estimate the length of objects with connecting links. In item M, students use counting strategies to solve comparison problems involving length. In item N, students practice finding the middle number of a collection of measurements.
• Assign Home Practice Parts 3–4 to provide practice with skip counting by 2s and 5s.
