Est. Class Sessions: 3

Homework and Practice

  • Assign the Eight Pennies Table Homework Master. Families will help their children find different ways to arrange eight pennies into two pockets. Students record the data in the table and write a number sentence for each arrangement.
  • Assign DPP items M–R. Items M, N, and Q provide practice with computation and time concepts using the calendar. In items O and P, students describe and compare the properties of shapes. In item R, students practice using tallies and symbols to represent quantities.
  • Assign Home Practice Part 2 in which students draw a picture and write a number sentence showing total pockets worn by a family member.

Math Facts. Each activity in this lesson provides opportunities for students to develop and practice math facts strategies.
