This quiz corresponds to the subtraction facts in Groups 5 and 6. Ask students to have two pencils or pens of different colors ready. During the first minute of the quiz students should write their answers using one color pencil or pen. After you tell students that a minute has passed, they should begin writing their answers with the other color pencil or pen. After students have been given a reasonable amount of time to complete the rest of the problems, they should check their work. Students update their Subtraction Facts I Know charts using the results of the quiz.

Use this DPP item to assess students' abilities to use mental math strategies to subtract for the facts in Groups 5 and 6 [E10].

K. Subtraction Facts: Groups 5 and 6 Again

You will need two pens or pencils of different colors. Use the first color when you begin the test. When your teacher tells you to switch pens or pencils, finish the test using the second color.
