TIMS Task

  1. About 10–11 minutes.
  2. Mr. Moreno should schedule fifteen-minute conferences between 7:00 and 9:00 to accommodate the 8 parents. Twelve parents plan to come between 4:00 and 6:00. He should plan 10-minute conferences with each of these parents.

H. Parent-Teacher Conferences

Mr. Moreno plans to meet with the parents of each of his 22 students during Parent-Teacher Conferences. The conferences are held from 4:00 to 6:00 PM and from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. (There is a one-hour dinner break for the teachers from 6:00 to 7:00.)

  1. About how long can Mr. Moreno meet with the parents of each of his students if they all plan to come to the conferences?
  2. Mr. Moreno finds out that 2 parents are unable to attend the conferences. Eight parents need to come between 7:00 and 9:00 because of their work schedules. The rest of the parents will come between 4 and 6 o'clock. Help Mr. Moreno schedule his conferences.
