Homework and Practice

  • Assign the Doubles Homework section in the Student Guide. These questions ask students to apply the doubling patterns to other problems.
  • Assign Parts 3 and 4 of the Home Practice. In Part 3, students practice using a variety of strategies to solve multiplication problems with larger numbers In Part 4, students practice writing and ordering larger numbers using a place value chart.

Use Part 4 of the Home Practice to assess students' abilities to read and write large numbers [E1] and compare and order large numbers [E2].

The Workshop in Lesson 7 provides targeted practice.

  • Assign DPP items E–H. Items F and H provide practice with various strategies when multiplying two-digit by one-digit numbers. Item G provides practice dividing in a problem involving money.

Math Facts. DPP Bit E provides practice with the fact families for the 5s and 10s.

In Home Practice Part 3, students practice division problems involving the division facts for the 5s and 10s.
