- Questions 5–9 in the Student Guide can be assigned as homework after Part 1 or used as classwork.
- Questions 1–4 in the Homework section of the Student Guide can be assigned after Part 2.
- Questions 5–12 in the Homework section of the Student Guide can be assigned after Part 3.
- Assign Home Practice Parts 5–7. Part 5 provides practice with the counting-back strategy for subtraction. Part 6 provides practice with using a number line to estimate and then round large numbers. In Part 7, students use estimation strategies to solve problems involving population.
- Assign DPP items S–V. DPP Task V provides practice using different strategies to solve a multiplication problem.
Math Facts. Task T provides practice with fact families. Bit S is an assessment of the fact families for the 5s and 10s, using multiplication and division. Bit U is a quiz on the division facts for the 5s and 10s.
