Tell students that they have 25¢ to spend at the Corner Store. Challenge them with the following problems:

Choose three things that you can buy for 25¢.

1. How much will all three things cost? How much money will you have left over?

3. What one item can you buy and have the least money left over? Show or tell how you know.
4. What two items can you buy and have the most money left over? Show or tell how you know.
