The ongoing project, Hundreds of Coins, was introduced in Unit 1. Activities and possible prompts through Day 25 and Day 100 are included in Unit 1 Lesson 1. Encourage students to skip count using the number line to find the total amount in four jars. Alternatively, students can use a doubling strategy to find out how much is in 2 jars, then in 4 jars. Have coins and the coin jars from Unit 1 Lesson 1 readily available.

  4. What should we write in the next space on the charts?
  5. Can we make trades today? Why or why not?
