Lesson 7

Skeletons of 3-D Shapes

Est. Class Sessions: 2

Homework and Practice

  • Assign the Triangular Prism page in the Student Activity Book which asks students to analyze and describe a triangular prism.
  • Assign DPP items W–Z. In DPP Bit W, students compare and order fractions.
  • Assign Home Practice Part 5. Part 5 provides practice with strategies for the multiplication facts for nines.

Math Facts. DPP Task X, Bit Y, and Task Z provide practice with the multiplication facts and the related fact families for the nines.

Remind students to take home their Triangle Flash Cards to prepare for the assessment of their multiplication facts for nines in DPP Bits CC and GG.

Use the Triangular Prism page in the Student Activity Book to assess students' abilities to describe and analyze threedimensional shapes using their properties (number and shape of sides, number of edges, and number of corners) [E2] and to identify congruent faces of a shape [E5].
