Have connecting cubes and desk number lines readily available.

  1. odd; Possible response: I made pairs with connecting cubes and there was one leftover. One leftover means the number is odd.
  2. odd; Possible response: Adding by two is like skip counting by two. Skip counting by two and then adding one more means the number is odd.
  3. even; Possible response: I skip counted by two and I always land on 4s. So, I must land on 84.
  4. odd; Possible response: I thought about 2 + 2 + 2 and that would be even, so one more would be odd.
