  1. Possible response. I took two away from 502 to make it 500, then I added the two to the 98 to make that 100. I added 500 + 100 = 600.
  2. Possible response: I used convenient numbers to estimate 300 + 500 = 800. Since 800 is close to 809, I know my answer is reasonable.
