In Lesson 5, students may scale their graphs for Downhill Racer with intervals of 0.25 or 0.1. This item helps prepare students for this task.

Be sure students say the numbers accurately. For Question 1, for example, they should begin, “10 cents, 20 cents, etc.” For Question 2, they should begin, “one-tenth, two-tenths, etc.”

O. Skip Counting

  1. Skip count by dimes to $2.00. Start like this: $0.10, $0.20, $0.30, etc.
  2. Skip count by tenths to 2. Start like this: 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, etc.
  3. Skip count by quarters to $5.00. Start like this: $0.25, $0.50, $0.75, etc.
  4. Skip count by 0.25 (twenty-five hundredths) to 5. Start like this: 0.25, 0.50, 0.75, etc.
