Add Fractions

• Assign the Homework section in the Student Guide to provide practice with equivalent fractions.
• Assign the Fraction Problems pages in the Student Activity Book. Students find equivalent fractions, convert improper fractions to mixed numbers, and solve fraction addition word problems.
• Assign DPP items GG–JJ. In Bit II, students practice estimating sums that involve fractions.
• Challenge HH can be assigned as a Problem of the Week. Students estimate the leaves in a tree.

Math Facts. In Bit GG, students practice the multiplication facts for the 5s and 10s. In Task JJ, students are asked to make change for $50 using only $5 and $10 bills. This item provides practice with the multiplication facts for the 5s and 10s.
