Fraction Sentences

• Assign the Homework section of Fraction Sentences in the Student Guide to provide practice converting mixed numbers to improper fractions, and improper fractions to mixed numbers.
• Assign Home Practice Part 3. Students practice finding equivalent fractions involving mixed numbers and improper fractions.
• Assign DPP items K–P. In Bit K, students practice finding the whole when given the fractional part. In Task L, students practice comparing fractions to 1/2. In Task N, students practice skip counting by halves and thirds. In Task P, students practice finding the median and mode of a data set represented in a bar graph.

Math Facts. DPP Bit M provides practice finding the unknown in a multiplication problem involving the facts for the 5s and 10s. In Bit O, students practice both the multiplication and division facts for the 5s and 10s.
