Find Equivalent Fractions

Homework and Practice

  • Assign the Homework section on the Find Equivalent Fractions pages in the Student Guide. Students use strategies of multiplication and division to find equivalent fractions.
  • Assign the Which Is Larger Homework page in the Student Activity Book. Students use the symbols <, >, or = to complete number sentences comparing fractions.
  • Assign DPP items G–J. In Bit G, students use place value and clues to write four-digit numbers. In Task H, students practice showing thirds using area models.
  • Challenge J can be used as the Problem of the Week. Students practice identifying fractions using area models.

Math Facts. In Bit I, students practice the multiplication facts for the 5s and 10s by multiplying multiples of 10.
