Students can turn the Is It Symmetrical game page
so that it lies horizontally or diagonally as they
play the game. A blank sheet of paper with a line
drawn horizontally or diagonally can serve the
same purpose.
Line symmetry occurs in nature. Students can collect
pictures of symmetrical objects from magazines.
(Examples: leaves, pine trees, the moon.)
Ask them to fold the pictures along the line of
symmetry. Display these pictures in class.
