TIMS Bit

Students will need their Triangle Flash Cards for all of the multiplication and division facts. They will also need their Multiplication Facts I Know and Division Facts I Know charts from Unit 2. Part 1 of the Home Practice reminds students to bring home the list of facts they need to practice along with the Triangle Flash Cards. A Blank Triangle Flash Cards Master is included at the end of the Home Practice and can be copied as needed.

Inform students when the Multiplication and Division Inventory will be given. This inventory appears in Bit OO.

Ongoing Assessment

Use DPP Bit A to assess students' fluency with the multiplication and division facts [E13].

A. Multiplication and Division Facts Review

With a partner, use your Triangle Flash Cards to quiz each other on the multiplication and division facts.

As your partner quizzes you on the multiplication facts, separate the facts into three piles: Facts I Know Quickly, Facts I Can Figure Out, and Facts I Need to Learn. Circle the multiplication facts in the Facts I Know Quickly pile on your Multiplication Facts I Know chart. Make a list of the facts that are in the last two piles so you can practice them at home.

Repeat the process for the division facts. Circle the facts in the Facts I Know Quickly pile on your Division Facts I Know chart. Make a list of facts that are in the last two piles so you can practice them at home.
