Workshop: Multiplication with Larger Numbers

Homework and Practice

  • Students may complete the problems they selected as homework.
  • Ask students to play Multiplication Digits Game at home with a family member.
  • Assign DPP Items Y–BB. Task Z involves students playing the Draw, Place, and Read game.
  • Challenge BB is a number puzzle involving square numbers and can be a Problem of the Week.
  • Assign Home Practice Parts 6–8. In Part 6, students practice multiplication facts using numbers that are multiples of ten. Part 7 provides opportunities to solve multiplication problems using paper and pencil, mental math, and estimation. Part 8 provides practice using estimation for addition, subtraction, and multiplication problems.

Math Facts. DPP Bit Y is a quiz of the fact families of the 2s and 3s. Bit AA is a quiz on the 2s and 3s division facts.

Use Home Practice Part 6 to assess students' abilities to multiply numbers that are multiples of ten [E2].
