TIMS Bit

Use this DPP item to practice the fact families for the multiplication and division facts for the 2s and 3s by asking students to first identify the unknown in a division number sentence.

  1. n = 5
    15 ÷ 3 = 5
    5 × 3 = 15
    3 × 5 = 15
  2. n = 9
    27 ÷ 3 = 9
    9 × 3 = 27
    3 × 9 = 27
  3. n = 8
    16 ÷ 2 = 8
    8 × 2 = 16
    2 × 8 = 16
  4. n = 9
    18 ÷ 2 = 9
    9 × 2 = 18
    2 × 9 = 18
  5. n = 7
    21 ÷ 3 = 7
    7 × 3 = 21
    3 × 7 = 21
  6. n = 8
    24 ÷ 3 = 8
    8 × 3 = 24
    3 × 8 = 24
  7. n = 1
    2 ÷ 2 = 1
    2 × 1 = 2
    1 × 2 = 2

E. Math Facts Practice

n stands for a missing number. Find the number that will make the sentence true. Then write the other number sentences in the same fact family.
