Est. Class Sessions: 2–3Homework and Practice
- Assign Questions 1–6 in the More Tile Problems part of the Homework section during Part 1 of this lesson. Students should have a sheet of Square-Inch Grid Paper to help them solve the problems.
- Assign Questions 7–15 in the More Finding Factors Problems section after Part 2 of this lesson. Students should have calculators, grid paper, and multiplication tables available to help solve these problems.
- Assign the How Many Rectangles with 30 Tiles? Homework page in the Student Activity Book.
- Assign DPP items I–L. DPP Bit K provides practice calculating elapsed time. Task L is a multistep word problem using a square number.
Math Facts. DPP items I and J provide practice with the multiplication facts for the 5s and 10s. Bit I presents an array and students find the factors. Task J uses the context of money: nickels and dimes.
